Our Mission is to be a leader in health, safety and environmental excellence through cooperation among communities, workers, industries and governments. Our Goal is to educate industries within the Chapter about OSHA, the VPP and other voluntary governmental efforts that assists in improving workers’ safety and health environment. This drives Our Objectives to provide members with quality programs and services aimed to help continuously improve safety & health and environmental management systems. 2012 Region VII Conference!
The dates are set for the 2012 Region VII VPPPA Conference, to be held in Des Moines, Iowa - May 7-9, 2012. The theme, "Winds of Change" encompasses not only the potential changes and challenges of the VPP in the near future, but the continuous modifications and progression in each VPP site's program. We look forward to offering all of you another great educational experience in the Heartland of Region VII. U.S. Department of Labor Sets Guidelines For VPP Incentive Programs (April 22nd, 2011) The enclosed document clarifies policy and procedure guidelines for the review and evaluation of safety and health incentive programs at VPP applicant and participant worksites. Please review the attached memo from Assistant Secretary David Michaels clarifying OSHA's position on incentive programs at VPP sites. This policy is effective immediately as of April 22nd, 2011. The Voluntary Protection Program Participants' Association (VPPPA) provides expertise to OSHA, DOE, and the EPA in the form of comments and stakeholder feedback on agency rulemakings and policies. The VPPPA also offers comments and testimony to members of Congress regarding legislation on safety and health issues. |

What is VPP?
The Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) were established by OSHA to promote effective safety and health management systems through a partnership between management, labor, and OSHA. Approval into VPP is OSHA’s official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health at their worksite.
