The Nomination, Election and Appointment Policy establishes the general guidelines and operating procedures that outline the Chapter Board of Directors nomination, election and appointment processes, including responsibilities, the appointment of a Nominating Committee, and nomination, election and appointment protocol. Election Nominations
The 19th Annual Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA) Region VII Conference will be held May 7 – 9, 2012 at Marriott Downtown in Des Moines, IA. Each year, in conjunction with the conference, elections are held for Region VII Board of Directors positions whose terms are ending. This year, there will be seven (7) contested positions: • Chairperson • Treasurer • Labor Representative from a Site with a Collective Bargaining Agreement • Contractor / Construction Representative • Director-At-Large 2 • Director-At-Large 4 • Director-At-Large 6 During the conference, a meeting of the VPPPA Region VII Membership will be held on Tuesday, May 8 from 7:30am to 9:00am. Nominations from the floor will be accepted (with nominees’ consent) during the meeting. To serve on the Region VII Board, nominees must be a Full or Corporate member in good standing. Appointments
When Board positions become open, the Board of Directors will appoint qualified individuals to those positions. If you are interested in seeking appointment to any open position, read the Appointment Nomination Solicitation Letter (link) and review the VPPPA Region VII Board of Directors Requirements, Duties, Obligations and Responsibilities. The following information is then required to be submitted:
(1) A signed Appointment Nomination Form (link)
(2) A signed Appointment Protocol (link)
(3) A signed Background Check Authorization Form (officer candidates only) (link)
(4) A Statement of Qualifications
(5) A Management Letter of Support, signed by the nominee’s company leadership
(6) A personal photo (optional)
