Write Now Right Now Campaign
The Write Now Right Now campaign is in full swing and we need everyone’s support. As leaders in occupational safety and health, it is imperative that we act now and contact our congressional representatives in support of continued government funding of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP). Despite a $10 million increase for enforcement in the President’s FY 2011 budget, Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis announced that she will further decrease funding for compliance assistance, cutting financial support for VPP, and re-direct these resources toward enforcement. OSHA is also proposing to implement a fee based system for participation in the VPP. For more information, please go to the Write Now Right Now page.

We would like to commend all VPPPA Region VII sponsors. Without yours and their support, commitment and dedication, our VPPPA mission would not be attainable. View the sponsor list under the sponsorship link.

  • Support the Future of The VPP! As leaders in occupational safety and health, it is imperative that we act now and contact our congressional representatives in support of Senate Bill 3257 (S. 3257) to codify the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP). S. 3257 will not only support and expand the program, especially for small businesses, but it will eliminate the idea of a user-fee system for VPP. We Are Here To Serve You!
The Voluntary Protection Program Participants' Association (VPPPA) provides expertise to OSHA, DOE, and the EPA in the form of comments and stakeholder feedback on agency rulemakings and policies. The VPPPA also offers comments and testimony to members of Congress regarding legislation on safety and health issues.
What is VPP?
The Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) were established by OSHA to promote effective safety and health management systems through a partnership between management, labor, and OSHA. Approval into VPP is OSHA’s official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health at their worksite.
