Mentoring
The award-winning VPPPA Mentoring Program is a formal process to assist companies/facilities interested in the VPP or improving their safety and health management systems. The program matches interested sites with current qualified mentors from VPP Star sites to assist them on their journey towards VPP recognition.
All potential mentors must meet and complete mentoring training and qualify prior to working with interested businesses. Depending on preferences indicated on the VPPPA Mentoring Application Form, coordinators consider similar experiences, industries, geographic location and union representation when choosing prospective mentors. Once a match has been made, the sites form a unique relationship based on the needs of the mentored site and the time and resources available to the mentor.
Note: The VPPPA Mentoring Program is a free resource provided by the association to sites regardless of membership status. The association with the mentoring program does not guarantee VPP status recognition, but is intended to be an informational resource for interested participants.
