- CALL FOR 2010 CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS! You can assist Region VII VPPPA in maintaining their outstanding reputation by submitting an electronic proposal to present an educational workshop at the 17th Annual VPPPA Conference to be held at the La Vista Convention Center/Embassy Suites in La Vista (Omaha), Nebraska, May 24-26, 2010. - OSHA publishes a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPR) in the Federal Register for revising the Hazard Communication portions of 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry), 1915 (Shipyard) and 1926 (Construction). The purpose of this proposed revision is to make these regulations consistent with the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), Revision 3. This is a major proposed change to the various aspects of hazard communication and will significantly impact training, labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets (currently called material safety data sheets), the hazard classification of chemicals, etc. To view the proposed changes, go to this link.
